Our business in Japan, has been supporting a social action programme called ‘Table for Two’ (‘TFT’) designed to help promote better health, help tackle world issues such as famine and malnutrition in the developing countries as well as lifestyle-related diseases or obesity caused by excessive eating in the developed countries.
Taking the lead in the food service industry, our team in Japan has been working on the TFT programme together with their clients in cooperation with the TFT head office since February 2007. The TFT programme includes a well balanced and calorie-controlled menu and each time a consumer purchases a TFT menu, a donation of 20 yen per meal is made. The donated 20 Yen contributes to school food expenses for children who suffer from famine in the African countries.
The programme has generated a very favourable response from customers as well as our clients because of its clear objective to make a social contribution.
We hope that the number of clients supporting TFT activities will continue to increase. So far, monies raised amount to approximately 1.7 million Yen, which is worth 85,000 school meals in the developing world.
