‘Balanced Choices’

We know we have a big impact on what our millions of daily consumers choose to eat and drink. That is why we developed our healthy eating framework, 'Balanced Choices'. Originally developed in the UK business and steadily adopted by other countries, 'Balanced Choices' was developed by a skilled team of dieticians, nutritional experts and food technologists and is based on sound science, government guidelines and best practice.

The ‘Balanced Choices’ programme is sufficiently flexible to be able to be implemented across different countries and sectors of our business. It has defined minimum operating standards, a chef training programme, detailed nutritionally balanced menu/recipe bank and a great range of customer information such as posters, point of sale material and informative bulletins.

More than 838 units (2008: 750 units) in the UK and close to 2,000 units (2008: over 1,750 units) in the US are now qualified to operate ‘Balanced Choices’.
